The Open Content Library is all about the development of online communities to create, share and distribute as many forms of "open" digital content as possible. It came from the successful Open Clip Art Library project in order to build connections between libraries that already exist and to standardize upon the methods of inter-communication.

The Open Clip Art Library was the first in the series of Open Content Libraries that was developed.
